Prior registration of use or public broadcasting of recorded music is mandatory for event organizers by law.
The right of performers and producers of phonograms to compensation for the public use of music was recognized in 1961, when members of the international community signed the International Convention for the Protection of Performers, Producers of Phonograms and Broadcasting Organizations in Rome. Slovenia incorporated the Rome Convention into the national legislation only more than 30 years later, when in 1995 the rights of performers and producers of phonograms were protected by the Copyright and Related Rights Act (ZASP). After a long wait, Slovenia thus joined the other countries of the European Community, where the rights of performers and producers of phonograms enjoy a long tradition of protection.
Institute for the Enforcement of the Rights of Performers and Producers of Phonograms of Slovenia, k.o. (IPF, k.o.) was founded in 1997, and in November 2000 it received a license from the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Slovenia for collective enforcement of the rights of performers and producers of phonograms in Slovenia. It operates in accordance with the Copyright and Related Rights Act. The official consolidated text of this law is published in the Official Gazette of the RS, no. 16/2007.
In the Music data form you must provide information for each piece of music – the recording you will use at the TUTU GRAND PRIX 2023 Ballet & Choreography competition. For example, if you are going to perform the same Etude in both competition rounds, you only need to enter description in the fields under Composition 1, but if you perform two different Etudes in the First round and in the Final of the competition, then you need to enter description for music used in both Etudes in the fields under Composition 1 and the fields under Composition 2.
If the Competitor competes with pas de deux and the music is recorded from same CD medium, then you need to enter the description of music recording for the entire pas de deux only in the fields under Track 1. If recordings of music you use in the pas de deux are from different musical media (f.e. adagio from one and variation from the other …), then you must enter dates for each music recording.
If you use a recording of music that is the property of an individual orchestra, e.g. Theatre, and the recording was not released on an official phonogram, you must obtain permission from the legal entity under whose auspices the orchestra operates or music performer. In this case you must also enter the data in the fields and at the end you need to mark that the recording is not of a commercial nature.
If you got the music recording by downloading it from web as YouTube, then find the media from which the clip is uploaded to Youtube, search for it on the web and enter the information, and than on the end finally mark that the clip is downloaded from the web.
If at the TUTU GRAND PRIX 2023 Ballet Competition you will use a music recording that you recorded yourself, and the artist is e.g. accompanist of the school or institution from which you come, you must also fill in the individual fields under each song, by entering only the / character in the Album Title, Album ID, Phonogram Producer fields.
